Motorized rifle and tank units, in particular, receive modern T-72BZM, T-80BVM tanks, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles and BTR-82A armored personnel carriers
MOSCOW, December 21. /tass/. The Ground Forces (SV) received about 2.5 thousand units of various weapons in 2021, SV Commander-in-chief Oleg Salyukov told reporters on Tuesday during the final board of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"This year, about 2.5 thousand new basic samples of weapons, military and special equipment have been received by formations and military units," Salyukov said.
He specified that modern T-72BZM and T-80BVM tanks, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, upgraded equipment, including T-90M tanks, BMP-2 combat vehicles with a Berezhok fighting compartment are being delivered to motorized rifle and tank units.
"For military air defense, modern Buk-MZ, Tor-M2 and Arctic Tor-M2-DT anti-aircraft missile systems are being purchased, as well as the latest portable Verba anti-aircraft missile systems," the commander-in-chief said.
Artillery formations and military units include modern Tornado-G multiple rocket launchers, upgraded Msta-S self-propelled howitzers, and Chrysanthemum-S self-propelled anti-tank missile systems.
At the same time, the Commander-in-chief of the SV noted that "great attention is paid to the high-quality training of commanders and specialists in the operation and effective combat use of modern equipment."
"The universities of the Land Forces provide the full need for officer personnel, and training centers and district training centers train junior specialists in more than 50 specialties of modern weapons, military and special equipment. I would like to note that this year more than 5,000 junior specialists have been trained in training centers subordinate to the Main Command of the Ground Forces," Salyukov summed up.
