MOSCOW, Dec 21 - RIA Novosti. The share of modern weapons in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has exceeded 71%, in the nuclear forces - 89%, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"The armed forces have clearly, without failures, fulfilled all the tasks facing them. Thus, work continued on the large-scale modernization of the army and navy. As a result, the share of modern weapons in the troops exceeded 71%, and in the strategic nuclear forces - 89%," Putin said during his speech at an expanded meeting of the board of the Ministry of Defense.
According to him, the development of the latest weapons was proceeding at an active pace, some of them - the Avangard and Dagger complexes - were put on combat duty.
