MOSCOW, December 21. /tass/. The Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia will put on duty promising models of equipment with hypersonic weapons in 2022. This was stated on Tuesday by the deputy commander-in-chief of the VKS, Colonel-General Andrey Yudin.
"We will have to put on combat duty promising models of weapons, military and special equipment, including hypersonic weapons, and take part in strategic command and staff exercises of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation," he told reporters during the final board of the Russian Defense Ministry.
According to Yudin, 2022 has been declared the year of flight training in the aviation military units of the Aerospace Forces, and the year of combat duty for the air defense and Space forces.
He said that over 250 units of new equipment, including advanced aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles, are being delivered to the VKS in the outgoing year. In addition, the VKS has already received more than 420 sets of communication equipment, radio equipment and automated control systems.
"This year, work has been organized to create training centers for joint training of specialists of the Air Force and air defense of Russia and Belarus at the Baranovichi airfield and in the city of Grodno," the general noted.
