MOSCOW, Dec 21 - RIA Novosti. The first aviation regiment of MiG-31K fighters with hypersonic Kinzhal missiles has been formed in the Russian Aerospace Forces, Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu said.
"A separate aviation regiment has been formed, armed with MiG-31K aircraft with a hypersonic Dagger missile," he said at an expanded meeting of the board of the Ministry of Defense with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Kinzhal hypersonic missile, according to the developers, is guaranteed to overcome all existing air and missile defense systems, delivering nuclear and conventional warheads to a range of up to 2 thousand kilometers. The MiG-31K interceptor fighters are equipped with the Dagger.
