MOSCOW, December 21. /tass/. Life cycle contracts allow maintaining the serviceability of aircraft in the Russian troops at the level of 83%. This was announced on Tuesday by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at an expanded meeting of the board of the military department.
"The terms of these contracts (life cycle contracts - approx. TASS) provides for the maintenance of 100% of the aircraft and helicopters in operation. This made it possible to maintain the serviceability of aircraft at a level of at least 83%, which is more than twice the figures of 2012," Shoigu said.
He noted that an integrated approach is being implemented for the maintenance and repair of aircraft equipment within the framework of life cycle contracts concluded directly with manufacturers, using the cost of flight hour criterion.
