The creators of the Russian "invisible ship" are preparing for the first tests of their brainchild.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation agreed on a work plan for the corvette project 20380 "Sharp".
The construction of this unique ship is now being completed in the Far East.
According to the document, already in January, the "Sharp" will go to sea. The Pacific region today requires special attention, and the new corvette will be able to strengthen the Navy's strike capabilities in this strategic direction, military experts say.
According to the interlocutors of Izvestia, the crew is already settled on the corvette. Systems responsible for ensuring the activity of sailors and the survivability of the ship itself began to function on board. Before going to sea in January next year, the "Sharp" will undergo mooring tests — they will check the operation of the main power plant and the ship's control systems.
During the first trip to the sea, factory sea trials will also begin. Their goal is to study the compliance of the main characteristics of the combat and technical means of the ship with the values stated in the project.
It is planned, in particular, to check the reliability of navigation equipment, to conduct tests of controllability and stability, and, if necessary, to debug the operation of ship equipment.
