19FortyFive: the S-70 Hunter drone will strengthen the Su-57 fighter
The S-70 Hunter heavy strike and reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) will strengthen the Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighter, the American publication 19FortyFive recognizes .
The publication commented on the rollout of a version of this UAV with a flat nozzle that provides the aircraft with low visibility. The publication is confident that in this way "Russia is one step closer to deploying a combat stealth drone", which can be controlled from the cockpit of the Su-57.
19FortyFive claims that the S-70 Hunter will be connected to the Su-57 using an artificial intelligence system.
"The concept of a loyal slave means that a drone and a fighter can exchange intelligence and surveillance data, as well as targeting information. The US armed forces have their own concept of loyal wingmen, called Skyborg," the publication recalls.
The publication says that the use of the S-70 Hunter will provide the Su-57 with more opportunities during combat. "The pilot of the Su-57 can assess the task, the performance of which would be too dangerous for a manned mission, and instead use a drone to destroy the target," the newspaper writes.
In December, The Drive publication, commenting on the rollout of the S-70 Hunter with a flat nozzle, noted that in this way Moscow fulfilled its promise to create a more advanced Su-57 wingman.
