The large anti-submarine ship (BOD) "Admiral Panteleev" of the Pacific Fleet (TOF) conducted an exercise to search for and destroy a submarine of a conditional enemy in the waters of the Sea of Japan, Ilya Kolesnikov, head of the information support department of the press service of the Air Defense for the Pacific Fleet, told RG.
The crew of the ship worked out an algorithm of actions to search for a submarine of a conditional enemy, previously detected by intelligence. After the discovery, he began tracking her. Then the ship's combat crews worked out the algorithm of actions when preparing anti-submarine weapons in readiness for use and destroyed the underwater target with jet depth charges and torpedoes.
The exercise was conducted in accordance with the combat training plan of the Pacific Fleet without the actual use of naval weapons.
Admiral Panteleev conducted the exercises of the BOD returning to the main base of the Pacific Fleet after participating in the first ever joint naval exercises of Russia and the countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) - "ARNEX-2021". They were held in the area of the island of Ve off the coast of Indonesia. The ships of Russia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei and Myanmar participated in them.
During the exercises, the crews worked out joint tactical maneuvering, communication organization and rescue at sea. And also the algorithm of actions during the inspection operation of a suspicious vessel was worked out.
