MOSCOW, December 17. /tass/. Roscosmos cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov congratulated rocket scientists, their family members, designers and specialists of the military-industrial complex on the Day of Strategic Missile Forces, which is celebrated on December 17.
"The Strategic Missile Forces have always been and remain a reliable guarantor of national security and protection of the interests of our fatherland. Today, the personnel of the troops are successfully mastering new strategic weapons, including hypersonic ones, improving their skills and abilities, conscientiously carrying out combat duty and ready for the immediate fulfillment of tasks," Shkaplerov stressed.
In turn, Dubrov recalled that shortly before the Day of the RVSN, the Military Academy of the Peter the Great RVSN celebrated the next anniversary of its formation. "The achievements of the Russian scientific and production teams of the enterprises of the military-industrial complex deserve high praise. Using the most advanced technologies, they are actively working on promising projects, creating modern samples of strategic weapons that have no analogues in the world," he added.
On December 17, a memorable date is celebrated annually in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - the Day of Strategic Missile Forces. It was established by the decree of President Vladimir Putin of May 31, 2006. The date was chosen due to the fact that on December 17, 1959, the USSR government decided to create the Strategic Missile Forces as a new type of Armed Forces.
