Rostec handed over a batch of ammunition to the troops to protect against high-precision weapons
Rostec State Corporation has prematurely handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense a batch of aerosol means for protection against high-precision weapons. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the state corporation.
It is noted that the Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering (Tsniitochmash) has handed over a batch of ammunition that will protect equipment from optical and thermal guided projectiles.
The ammunition is designed to protect multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) "Hurricane-1M", mobile reconnaissance points PRP-4A and PRP-5A, heavy flamethrower systems TOS-2 and other weapons.
Bekhan Ozdoev, Industrial director of the arms cluster of the Rostec State Corporation, said that the firing of protective ammunition provides a veil of combined interference to the equipment. This breaks the contact of the attacking projectile with the target.
In September, Rostec announced the start of production of equipment protection systems against high-precision weapons. The complex consists of attack warning sensors, control and display equipment, as well as launchers with protective ammunition. The development provides protection against weapons with thermal, optical, laser and radar guidance channels.
