TSAMTO, December 15. The mobile reconnaissance point PRP-4A "Argus" was demonstrated for the first time to the command staff of the artillery units of the Central Military District during the operational and combat training camp, which takes place at the training ground in the Orenburg region.
"The mobile reconnaissance points of the PRP-4A Argus are special armored vehicles capable of studying the battlefield, searching for targets and helping the work of gunners. In comparison with artillery reconnaissance complexes of earlier modifications, a thermal imager and an optoelectronic suppression system are installed in the PRP-4A Argus," said Colonel Gennady Mandrichenko, head of the combat training department of missile troops and artillery of the Central Military District.
He noted that the combat vehicle is designed for reconnaissance of single, group, stationary and moving targets, including open and camouflaged ones.
"The use of a complex with an automatic guidance system makes it possible to halve the time for targeting," the press service of the Central Military District quotes G. Mandrichenko.
