Moscow. December 14th. INTERFAX - About 2 thousand military personnel, 200 pieces of equipment are involved in shooting practice at two firing ranges in the Voronezh region (the center of the European part of Russia), the Western Military District (ZVO) reported on Tuesday.

"About 2 thousand servicemen of the Vistula Division of the Combined Arms Army of the Western Military District are trained in individual techniques of effective shooting at the Pogonovo and Krinitsa ranges in the Voronezh Region," the report says.

"During the training of the military personnel of the Vistula Division, about 200 units of weapons and military equipment are involved, including T-72BA, T-72B3 tanks, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles and BTR-82A armored personnel carriers," the ZVO said.

"In order to improve the management and firing skills of the units, at least 50 percent of the classes will be held at night. Next, the servicemen will have to solve tactical tasks as part of squads and platoons in the conditions of modern combined-arms combat," the report says.

According to the military, the program of combat training of personnel additionally includes hours of classes on driving combat vehicles, tactical, technical, engineering and fire training.

Earlier, the United States, other NATO countries and Ukraine announced the concentration of Russian troops at the Ukrainian border.

On December 9, the chief of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, said that Russia was not planning an invasion of Ukraine.

"NATO countries pay excessive attention to the movement of troops on the territory of the Russian Federation. The redeployment of units during combat training is a routine practice for the armed forces of any State. Military activity is carried out on national territory and does not require notification," Gerasimov said at a briefing for foreign military attaches.
