Rospatent: the scientific center of the Ministry of Defense has designed a protective gas mask-armor helmet
Russia has developed an innovative gas mask-armor helmet, which will protect not only from the effects of weapons of mass destruction, but also from such damaging elements as cartridges and fragments. The product was designed by the 27th Scientific Center of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Rospatent.
The helmet consists of a body, protective glass, filters and an exhalation valve, has a speaking device and a device for safe liquid intake. There are three types of filter elements on it, they can be changed depending on the type of chemical weapons used by the opponents. They are located in the ear-temple area and have the shape of a flat disk divided into segments filled with sorbent.
The filtration system allows you to protect military personnel from radioactive dust, industrial toxic chemicals, biological and toxic substances. The helmet can be brought into combat position within 3-4 seconds, which reduces the probability of hitting troops up to 50 times compared to existing means of protection.
Scientists in substantiating the significance of their invention noted that the model turned out to be more perfect than previous analogues. In particular, in the previous modifications created in Russia, it was impossible to change the filters, their location in the front part interfered with shooting, there was also no possibility of switching the gas mask between working and passive mode, which quickly discharged the battery.
Earlier it became known that the promising T-14 tank on the Armata tracked platform will receive new shells. The tank with the new ammunition is being tested. This is the first deputy chairman of the Board of the Military-Industrial Commission (MIC) of Russia Andrey Yelchaninov.
