MOSCOW, December 9. /tass/. Roscosmos plans to launch about 20 microsatellites in 2022, including for leading Russian universities. This was reported on Thursday in the state corporation.
"The Roscosmos State Corporation plans to launch about 20 microsatellites (cubesats) and small spacecraft (MCAS) in 2022 as part of joint partnership projects with educational organizations," the report says.
According to the state corporation, the launch of 16 microsatellites will be carried out within the framework of the Space-Pi project (the "Duty on the Planet" program).
"In addition, in 2022, four small spacecraft developed by leading Russian universities are scheduled to be launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome in the interests of the thematic customer of Roshydromet: the Avion Kaluga 650 MCU (Lomonosov Moscow State University), Norbi-2 (Novosibirsk State University), Yarilo No. 3 and No. 4 (Bauman Moscow State Technical University)," Roscosmos announced.
According to the state corporation, in just the next few years, Roscosmos will form a grouping of more than 100 cubesats in near-Earth orbit, which will contribute to the implementation of educational programs in all areas of space technology.
