The Government of the Russian Federation in 2021 will allocate an additional 44.6 billion rubles for the development and production of the PD-35 aircraft engine. This was announced on Thursday, December 9, by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin during a meeting on the implementation of projects in the field of aviation engine building.
He clarified that on the eve of a long discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin approach to engine building.
"And I want to say that on his behalf we have brought you good news today. The government will allocate an additional 44.6 billion rubles this year for the production and development of a unique PD-35 engine," Mishustin said.
At the same time, according to him, the Russian authorities have provided about 50 billion rubles for measures to bring the domestic auxiliary power plant to the market. At the same time, as Mishutin assured, the PD-14, which will be installed on the MS-21 aircraft, will be a worthy replacement for a foreign analogue.
Earlier, on December 4, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov expressed hope that the certification of the MS-21 will be completed by the end of this year. Prior to that, on July 20, Putin said that the MS-21 would soon be on the highway.
The MS-21 is a family of new generation Russian passenger aircraft. They will be released in several versions from 150 to 211 seats. The first flight of such an aircraft was made in May 2017. In December 2020, the MS-21-310 took off for the first time with PD-14 engines.
