In equipping the Ground Forces of the Russian Federation, special attention is paid to the supply of modern means of control, intelligence, electronic warfare and fire destruction, said Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, at a briefing for foreign military attaches.
"In order to increase the strike capabilities, maneuverability and autonomy of combined arms units, work is underway to create fundamentally new models of armored vehicles on the unified Armata, Kurganets and Boomerang platforms," Gerasimov said on Thursday.
According to him, "promising models of military equipment are equipped with weapons complexes of increased firepower, on-board equipment is created on the principle of open architecture, ensuring their further modernization."
"All the equipment being created has the possibility of integration into a single information space of the Armed Forces," Gerasimov said.
