The Russian wheeled armored vehicle with enhanced mine protection "Typhoon-K" is recognized by foreign military experts as one of the best in its class.
As noted by Oryxspioenkop, the multi-purpose armored vehicle armored car has a high degree of protection against land mines, as the landing party is in an armored compartment with a V-shaped body to reduce the damage from the shock wave. In addition, the crew of two people and 16 paratroopers are placed in shock-absorbing seats that protect against kinetic shock and injury. Earlier it was reported that the car can withstand the explosion of 8 kilograms of TNT.
Video cameras are installed in front, behind and on the sides along the Typhoon-K armored car, which allows you to observe the general situation around without having to leave a safe vehicle, as well as drive an armored car if the windshield was damaged by bullets.
Sixteen paratroopers are loaded and disembarked via a ramp at the rear of the vehicle, and a total of seven emergency evacuation hatches are installed on the roof.
"The KAMAZ-63968 armor provides comprehensive protection against armor-piercing cartridges of 14.5 mm caliber, which makes it one of the best protected vehicles in its class," the publication reports.
It should also be noted that in addition to the embrasures for firing in a protected capsule, the Typhoon-K provides for the installation of a remotely controlled machine gun module. Despite the weight of 16 tons, the car can accelerate up to 100 kilometers per hour.
