MOSCOW, Dec 9 - RIA Novosti. The Ministry of Emergency Situations in 2022-2023 will receive four Mi-8AMTSh-VA attack helicopters for service in the Arctic, a source in the military-industrial complex told RIA Novosti.
"The contract has been signed, the Ministry of Emergency Situations will receive the first two Mi-8AMTSh-VA vehicles in 2022 and two in 2023," the agency interlocutor said.
He recalled that a contract was previously signed with the Ministry of Emergency Situations for nine new Mi-38s with deliveries in 2023-2024.
The Mi-8AMTSh-VA (Arctic), which has a number of design features, ensures its operation even in 60-degree frost. It was created on the basis of the latest modification of the Mi-8AMTSh-V military transport helicopter. The machine is distinguished by new Klimov gas turbine engines with increased power and an automatic control system. It is also distinguished by a more powerful auxiliary power plant, an enhanced transmission and updated avionics.
