SEVASTOPOL, December 8. /tass/. The crew of the new patrol ship of the Black Sea Fleet "Sergey Kotov" conducted the first artillery firing in the Black Sea, the press service of the Black Sea Fleet said on Wednesday.
"During the targeted launch of the ship into the sea, the crew successfully carried out test firing from the AK-176 artillery installation, large-caliber ship machine guns and DP-65 anti-sabotage grenade launchers. Earlier, during the tests, the ship's crew, together with the factory delivery team, mastered the features of operation, maintenance and practical application of onboard systems, devices and mechanisms," the fleet reported.
It is specified that factory tests of the ship are being carried out in the Black Sea and in the military harbor of the Novorossiysk naval base.
The ships of project 22160 were designed by JSC "Northern Design Bureau" (Saint Petersburg) and are designed to protect and protect the maritime economic zone, as well as to solve the tasks of escort and anti-piracy activities and perform search and rescue functions. They are armed with a 57-millimeter artillery installation, an anti-aircraft missile system. It is also possible to base Ka-27PS helicopters on them.

It was built at the Zelenodolsk plant named after A.M. Gorky together with Kerch shipbuilders. The Novorossiysk base of the Black Sea Fleet already has three ships of project 22160: "Vasily Bykov", "Dmitry Rogachev" and "Pavel Derzhavin".
