The Terminator tank support combat vehicle has successfully integrated into the 90th Guards Vitebsk-Novgorod Tank Division of the Central Military District. She gained her company status in the tactical link of one of the division's tank regiments.
The commander of the South Ural tank division of the Central Military District, Colonel Ramil Ibatullin, told the newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda about this. He added that the course of the planned combat training program was rich and varied. These are BMPT driving classes, combat shooting, and tactical exercises of the battalion and regimental level. The so-called through-attack method has also been revived. This is when the attacking side's combat vehicles, without reducing the rate of fire, literally penetrate the battle formations of the defending conditional enemy in a single rush.
Colonel Ramil Ibatullin also told about the staffing of the Terminator BMPT crews.
There was a lot of interest in the new car. The selection of candidates for BMPT crews was conducted on a competitive basis. And if everything was simple with the driver mechanics, because the running base of the Terminator is from the T-90A tank, then it was necessary to tinker with the assignment of personnel to the rest of the regular units. For example, the selection of the gunners of the AG-17D was carried out from the compositions of grenade launcher platoons of tank regiments. Four people applied for one place.
It was also the case with the commanding positions of the BMPT. Candidates of absolute leaders from among the non-commissioned officers, who have the second and third terms of service under the contract, who have been an active participant in large-scale military exercises for a year, were considered here. The competition consisted of five people for one place.
In the new academic year, the process of mastering BMPT will continue. And in the summer of 2022, the Terminators unit will participate in a larger battalion-level exercise.
