BEIJING, December 7. /tass/. The Ceres-1 launch vehicle of the private Chinese company Galactic Energy successfully launched five satellite vehicles into a sun-synchronous orbit on Tuesday. This is stated in a statement issued by the company.
The launch of the rocket in the Y2 modification took place at 12:12 local time (07:12 Moscow time) from the Jiuquan cosmodrome (Gansu Province). The flight lasted about 14 minutes, the altitude of the orbit is about 500 km.
The current launch was the second in the history of the Ceres-1 series launch vehicles, the first took place in November last year. The rocket is equipped with three solid-fuel engines. Its height is about 20 m, diameter is 1.4 m. The take-off weight of Ceres-1 is 33 tons. The payload weight is up to 230 kg when launched into a sun-synchronous orbit with a height of 700 km, up to 350 kg when launching vehicles into a near-Earth orbit with a height of 200 km. The rocket is designed for commercial launches and the removal of small-sized vehicles.
Galactic Energy (Chinese name - "Xinghe dongli") was established in February 2018 and is based in Beijing. In total, the company has carried out two successful launches with the aim of putting spacecraft into orbit, which makes it the first private commercial enterprise in China in this indicator.
