A batch of modernized heavy flamethrower systems TOS-1A "Solntsepek", made as part of the state defense order, has been transferred to the troops. This is reported by Rostec.
The upgraded "Solntsepeks" received modern launching equipment that ensures the convenience of the crew and reduces the time of performing a combat mission.
One of the delivered BM-1s has successfully passed firing tests at one of the ranges of the European part of Russia.
The batch of TOS-1A was handed over to the customer by the Omsk Plant of Transport Engineering of the Uralvagonzavod concern (part of Rostec).
- The heavy flamethrower system is the pride of the enterprise. Our designers are working on various options for its modernization so that it meets the most modern requirements and performs its functions efficiently," said Igor Lobov, General Director of Omsktransmash.
Recall that "Solntsepek" is capable of using 220-mm thermobaric rocket shells to destroy the enemy's manpower, its fortifications and military equipment. There are no analogues of the TOS-1A in caliber and firepower in foreign armies. In Russia, work is underway to include the "Solntsepek" in the automated control circuit of troops.
