Rostov-on-Don. December 4th. INTERFAX - More than 500 tank crews of formations and military units of the Southern Military District conducted live firing in the first week of the winter training period, the press service of the Southern Military District reported.
"Live firing exercises were carried out by tankers from the guns of modern T-72B3 and T-90A tanks using a 14.5 mm caliber plug-in barrel, which allows saving the tank's armament resource, as well as regular shells. Also, the shooting was carried out from a large-caliber anti-aircraft machine gun. The crews improved their skills in hitting targets simulating a moving tank, an anti-tank grenade launcher and recoilless artillery gun at distances from 300 to 2000 m.", the report says.
Tank crews were trained on various landscapes of desert and mountain-wooded areas of polygons stationed in the Volgograd and Rostov regions, Adygea, Dagestan, Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Karachay-Cherkessia and Crimea, as well as at military bases of the Southern Military District in Abkhazia, Armenia and South Ossetia.
