Ukraine intends to take part in an international project to return a man to the moon. This was stated by the head of the country's State Space Agency, Vladimir Taftai, in an interview with the Ukrinform agency, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, Kiev is a signatory of the Artemis program. Taftai expressed confidence that Ukraine will take a direct part in the process of delivering a man to the moon. He stressed that the country has a powerful potential in this matter, proven by decades of creating rocket technology. In addition, the head of the space agency said that there are significant developments in Ukraine, in particular concepts that can help in building a Lunar settlement and creating appropriate life support systems, oxygen supply and other things.
Earlier, Taftai said that Ukraine and Canada have started joint construction of a spaceport on the territory of the Canadian city of Halifax. The project includes the construction of a commercial spaceport for the Cyclone-4M launch vehicle of Ukrainian production and development. According to Taftai, the launch of the rocket from the Canadian cosmodrome is scheduled for 2022.
