A solemn flag-raising ceremony was held in Makhachkala on the border patrol ship Rasul Gamzatov. The corvette of the project 22460 "Hunter" will serve to protect the state border in the Caspian Sea.
As the head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov noted at the ceremony, the assignment of a new border patrol ship named after the poet Rasul Gamzatov is evidence of the strong connection of border defenders with the population of the republic.
The commander of the Caspian Flotilla, Rear Admiral Alexander Peshkov, said that with the new ship, the combat capabilities of the border control have increased: "I am sure that the crew will successfully complete the completion of course tasks, join the ranks of the Caspian border guards. Happy sailing!"
It should be noted that the ships of the project 22460 differ from their predecessors in seaworthiness. "Rasul Gamzatov" can serve in case of sea waves of six points. The speed on calm water is up to 28 knots. The outer contours of the ship's hull are designed using elements of stealth technology. The ship can overcome ice up to 20 centimeters thick.
The cruising range is 3,500 nautical miles, the crew is 30 people.
The corvette is equipped with rocket and machine-gun artillery weapons. In addition, the ship has a landing pad and is equipped with a TRIMS navigation and tactical complex, that is, the control processes are automated.
