MOSCOW, December 1. /tass/. Pilots and other aviation specialists of the Russian Armed Forces have fully and high-quality fulfilled all the tasks that were assigned to them in 2021, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on a conference call on Wednesday.
"In the past academic year, the military aviation has fully and at a high level fulfilled all the tasks set. In the course of combat training, modern aircraft and aviation weapons of destruction were actively mastered, which greatly contributed to the growth of the qualifications and professional training of our specialists. First of all, this concerns the joint strategic exercise "West-2021," the minister said.
He also noted that in compliance with all established flight safety requirements, the air part of the parade in honor of the 76th anniversary of the Great Victory in Moscow, as well as the aviation component of the Main Naval Parade in St. Petersburg were held.
"We will continue to pay great attention to improving the quality of training of aviation personnel. Today we will summarize the state of flight safety in 2021 and outline the main measures to reduce accidents in military aviation in 2022," Shoigu said, opening the meeting.
