VLADIVOSTOK, Dec 1 - RIA Novosti. The troops of the Eastern Military District will prepare for the strategic command and staff exercise "Vostok-2022" in the new academic year, the press service of the VVO reports.
Earlier, the commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Sergey Avakyants, in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper, said that the Russian military will hold the Vostok-2022 strategic exercise next year, training has already begun in the fleet.
"The commander of the Air Defense Forces, Hero of Russia, Colonel-General Alexander Chaiko, launched a new academic year in the district's troops during a solemn rally. Opening the new academic year in the motorized rifle unit of the district in the Khabarovsk Territory, Chaiko noted that the main focus in 2022 will be on preparing for the strategic command and staff exercise "Vostok-2022," the message says.
According to him, the experience of modern armed conflicts will also continue to be introduced into the combat training system, while most tactical exercises will be held in a bilateral format. For the new academic year, more than nine thousand events have been planned for the training of military command bodies, troops and forces of the Air Force, including more than two thousand command and staff, tactical and tactical-special exercises.
On Wednesday, December 1, more than 16 thousand servicemen and several thousand units of military equipment went to the military training grounds for combat training. Autonomous field camps for military personnel have been deployed at all major training grounds.
