TSAMTO, November 30. Turkish Aerospace will supply Kazakhstan with three medium-altitude UAVs of long flight duration (MALE class) "Anka" (Anka) and two ground control stations.
According to Jane's with reference to the press release of the Turkish company on November 27 on the social network Twitter, the delivery will be carried out until 2023. Other details of the transaction are not reported.
Turkish Aerospace CEO Temel Kotil said in an interview with the Turkish state-run Anatolia News Agency on November 27 that "the company considers exports to Kazakhstan an important success after the deal with Tunisia and is proud that the Anka UAV will now be in demand on the international market."
As previously reported by TSAMTO, after lengthy negotiations at the end of 2020, Turkish Aerospace reached an agreement on the supply of three Anka-S UAVs and three ground control points to the Tunisian Air Force Command. The sale value is estimated at $80 million.
The Anka-S UAV is a medium-altitude UAV with a long flight duration, which can be used at any time of the day for reconnaissance, detection and destruction of targets. The device is equipped with a PD-170 engine manufactured by TUSAS TEI with a capacity of 170 hp, can be in the air at altitudes up to 30 thousand feet for up to 24 hours, carry a payload weighing up to 200 kg. The maximum flight speed of the UAV is 217 km/h.
The Anka-S variant is equipped with a modified fairing with a Viasat VR-18C satellite communication antenna, which provides secure communication beyond the line of sight. The armament of the UAV can be eight 2.75-inch guided CIRIT missiles developed by Turkish Roketsan or 4 MAM-L missiles.
The Anka UAV made its first flight on October 30, 2010 and was adopted by the Turkish Armed Forces in 2017.
