The appearance on the Web of a photo of a government tank destroyed in 2019 caused controversy among experts and those who are seriously interested in armored vehicles. The initial claims in authoritative sources that this is one of the modifications of the T-90 were rejected.
The late "nineties" have a welded tower, and the photo shows that it is cast. At the same time, the machine has a new type of track belts, which the old models do not have.
The Syrian military had a commander's T-90K with a cast turret and tracks of this type, but it has a 1000-horsepower B-92C2 with an exhaust pipe of a characteristic shape, and this tank, apparently, has a B-84 with a capacity of 840 hp.
In addition, some experts have seen that the smoke grenade launchers are located in the same way as the T-72, so it is assumed that this is one of the versions of the "beshka", which has tracks with a parallel hinge, but it is impossible to determine exactly which option from this photo. Perhaps in the future, new, higher-quality images will float.
