The crew of the Russian frigate Admiral Gorshkov successfully completed a new test launch of a hypersonic Zircon missile from the White Sea, the missile hit a sea target at a distance of more than 400 kilometers, the Defense Ministry reported .
The flight corresponded to the specified parameters, the military department noted.
Surface ships and naval aviation of the Northern Fleet were involved in the shooting and closing of the area.
The previous tests of the "Zircon" were conducted on November 18. This test cycle is completed.
The Zircon missiles are capable of reaching speeds of up to Mach 9, the declared range is more than a thousand kilometers. It is planned to arm promising and under construction surface and submarine ships with missiles.
