Combat crews of AK-176 and AK-630 conducted artillery firing on sea and air targets
MURMANSK, November 26. /tass/. The small anti-submarine ship of the Northern Fleet "Snezhnogorsk" performed a training complex of artillery firing in the Barents Sea at sea and air targets. The sailors from the North Sea have worked out options for fighting with the ship of a conditional enemy and repelled the "attack" with a cruise missile, the press service of the fleet reported on Friday.
"The crew of the small anti-submarine ship Snezhnogorsk of the Kola Flotilla of the heterogeneous forces of the Northern Fleet has worked out a series of combat exercises in the training grounds of the fleet in the Barents Sea. Combat crews of AK-176 and AK-630 conducted artillery firing at sea and air targets according to the variant of combat with a surface ship of a conditional enemy and repelling an attack with a cruise missile," the report says.
The small anti-submarine ship Snezhnogorsk continues to operate according to the combat training plan of the Northern Fleet in the Barents Sea, its crew will practice anti-aircraft missile firing at a simulated aerial target, and will also fire with the main caliber at a coastal target. Upon completion of combat exercises at sea, the MPK Snezhnogorsk will return to its permanent base.
Small anti-submarine ships of the 1124M project form the basis of the connection of ships protecting the water area of the Kola Flotilla. They are designed mainly for the search, tracking and destruction of submarines in the near sea and coastal zone. They are armed with AK-176M and AK-630M anti-aircraft artillery systems, RBU-6000 rocket launchers and 533 mm torpedo tubes, as well as modern sonar systems.
