TSAMTO, November 26. Serbia expects to receive the Kornet ATGM from Russia by the end of the year. This, as RIA Novosti reports, was stated by Serbian President Alexander Vucic after a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi.
"In the future there will be other important supplies of strategic interest to Serbia. And this is not in the distant future," said A. Vucic.
According to the agency, Serbia is the largest importer of Russian weapons and military equipment in Europe. Over the past few years, Russia has transferred 30 upgraded T-72MS tanks, 30 BRDM-2 armored vehicles, seven Mi-17 and Mi-35 helicopters, and six MiG-29 fighters to Serbia. In addition, Belgrade has acquired a battery of ZRPC "Pantsir-S1". Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic also stated that the country wants to have a Russian S-400 complex, but cannot afford it yet.
