The crews completed the task of destroying enemy infrastructure and manpower
MOSCOW, November 25. /tass/. Ten helicopters are involved in military aviation exercises with live firing at the Kingisepp training ground in the Leningrad region. This was reported on Thursday in the press service of the Western Military District.
"Helicopter crews of the Leningrad Air Force and Air Defense Association of the Western Military District carried out rocket and cannon strikes on the infrastructure of the conditional enemy. <...> Crews of 10 multi-purpose Mi-8MTV-5-1 helicopters, Mi-28N Night Hunter attack helicopters, as well as Mi-35M took part in the exercises," the district said.
During the exercise, the crews flew from the airfield based in St. Petersburg to the area of the Kingisepp training ground (Leningrad region) and completed the task of destroying enemy infrastructure and manpower. The flight to the specified area was carried out at extremely low altitude at a speed of up to 30 m/s.
According to the press service, unguided S-8KOM aviation missiles and the GSH-30 aviation automatic 30-millimeter cannon, as well as P-50 training bombs were used to destroy targets. To create false targets for air defense, ASO-2B heat traps were used, produced with the help of on-board helicopter defense systems.
