"If they are really put side by side, then the S-400 will win," the author of the article is sure.
He noted that the functions of the Russian system are broader than those of the American competitor. So, the S-400 is capable of hitting not only missiles, but also aircraft of a potential enemy.
"In terms of overall functionality, the Russian S-400 is more like a universal complex. Therefore, despite the fact that a fragmentation method is used for interception at medium and long distances, which is not as powerful as the kinetic interception of the American THAAD, its advantage is that the Russian SAM is capable of multitasking," the author added.
The S-400 Triumph is a new generation long- and medium-range anti-aircraft missile system. It is designed to destroy strategic and tactical aircraft, ballistic missiles, hypersonic targets and other means of air attack.
THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) is an American anti—missile system designed to intercept medium-range missiles.
