In Russia, work is being completed on the creation of a two-link tracked lightly armored snowmobile armored personnel carrier DT-BTR. This is reported in the material of Yuri Avdeev, published in the newspaper of the Ministry of Defense of Russia "Red Star".
It is mentioned that his model was first demonstrated at the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2015". The "Bulletin of Mordovia" in its report was one of the first to publish the published tactical and technical characteristics and images of this largely unique novelty, which in fact has no world analogues.
The combat weight of this machine is about 25,000 kg. The weight of the towed trailer is at least 7000 kg. The APC is capable of transporting 12 people, including three in the first link and 9 in the second. Specific power - 20 hp per ton of weight. The maximum speed is up to 60 km/h on land and 6 km/h on water.
The machine can take an ascent or descent with a steepness of up to 35 degrees, a slope of at least 20 degrees. DT-BTR is not afraid of a ditch up to 2.7 m wide and a meter-high vertical wall.
Earlier, the illustrations showed a sample with an uninhabited Boomerang-BM combat compartment, similar to what is available on the K-17 wheeled BMP. Judging by the latest photos, it was replaced by 32B01 from the Central Research Institute "Burevestnik". As weapons, it uses a 30-mm 2A42 automatic cannon and a 7.62-mm 6P7K machine gun. A modern tele-thermal sight with a laser rangefinder allows you to effectively destroy targets both day and night.
