The American company Cleo Robotics has started selling a "donut" drone. Yesterday, November 22, the portal dronedj.com he announced that the Dronut X1 is available to everyone who is willing to pay $9800 for it.
The key feature of the doughnut-shaped drone is the coaxial screws hidden inside the body. Thanks to this design, the device can easily move in a confined space without fear of collisions. Coaxial screws and their location allow the device to come close to the walls and ceiling, which is a problem for most multicopters.
Presentation of Dronut X1
Dronut was first introduced in 2020. Then the developers indicated that they see military, rescuers and law enforcement agencies as potential buyers. The only problem that the developers then had to solve was the high noise level.
The commercial version of the device is called the Dronut X1 and comes with a spare battery that provides 12 minutes of flight. The control is carried out via Wi-Fi from a mobile phone connected to a special joystick. The drone is equipped with a 4K resolution camera, a three-dimensional lidar and a wide-angle lens.
