In Russia, new images of a two-link armored personnel carrier DT-BTR for the Arctic were shown. His images were published in the newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda.
The material dedicated to the holiday of the employees of the Main Armored Vehicle Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Russia was illustrated with photographs of promising equipment.
The publication noted that the DT-BTR snowmobile transporter is designed for transportation and fire support of personnel in difficult climatic conditions. The machine is designed to work in the Arctic, Siberia and the Far East. Studies have shown that a new structure of the transport fleet is needed for actions in the Arctic. The basis of promising machines is the chassis of two-link tracked vehicles of the "Ubiquitous" family.
In August, Mikhail Osyko, a member of the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation, spoke about the development of a mortar on the chassis of a two-link tracked vehicle. The basis of the self-propelled installation will be the DT-APC.
In July, the tests of the DT-BTR were shown on video. The car was tested at the 38th Research and Testing Institute of Armored Weapons and Equipment. The researchers tested the safety of the crew when detonating and exposing the car to napalm.
