Poland has decided on a short-range air defense system. Yesterday, November 21, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain announced the signing of an agreement on cooperation in the development of the Polish NAREW program.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Defense of Great Britain Ben Wallace and the Minister of Defense of Poland Mariusz Blaszczak. The parties agreed that a joint contract under the NAREW program will be signed in 2023, and from 2026 the new missile system will begin to enter service.

Polish NAREW will be built on the basis of British missiles Common Anti-air Modular Missile (CAMM) developed by MBDA UK. These missiles are used in land-based and ship-based sams Land Ceptor and Sea Ceptor. At the same time, the ammunition itself is an improved version of the ASRAAM air-to-air missile.
According to Wallace, the UK is ready to provide all the necessary support for the creation of a Polish air defense system, including the transfer of all software source codes. The Polish Armed Forces' need for short-range air defense systems is estimated at 23 complexes, the total cost of which can reach $ 8 billion.
