INTERFAX - An urgent telemedicine consultation, which became the one thousand five hundredth this year, was held at the Kirov Military Medical Academy (VMA) in St. Petersburg in real time for the treatment of a patient with a coronavirus infection, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
"The request to the Center for Coordination of Medical Support of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation VMA was received from specialists of the Volgograd Military Hospital. The patient was diagnosed with COVID-19," the report says.
The Academy's specialists were remotely presented with objective research data, "which made it possible to correct the diagnosis and tactics of patient management by doctors directly during the consultation, as well as to make recommendations and plan repeated consultations to monitor the results of the prescribed treatment," the Ministry of Defense reports.
According to him, a "Remote consulting center of anesthesiology-resuscitation for military personnel on the diagnosis and treatment of an infectious disease caused by the coronavirus strain COVID-19" was organized on the basis of the VMA. This was done in accordance with the order of the head of the Main Military Medical Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Dmitry Trishkin.
