MOSCOW, Nov 20 - RIA Novosti. Rosoboronexport is ready to consider Serbia's applications for the supply of air defense systems in the shortest possible time, Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheev told RIA Novosti at the end of the Dubai Airshow 2021.
"Currently, Rosoboronexport is not conducting pre-contract negotiations with Serbia on the supply of air defense systems. However, if the Serbian side appeals, we are ready to consider their applications for the supply of Russian defense products as soon as possible," Mikheev said.
Serbia is the largest importer of Russian weapons and military equipment in Europe. Earlier, the republic bought seven Mi-17 and Mi-35 helicopters from Russia, received six MiG-29 fighters and ten BRDM-2MS as a gift. Belgrade also acquired the Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile system. Serbian President Aleksandra Vucic also stated that Serbia wants to have a Russian S-400 complex, but cannot afford it yet.
