Russian scientists have invented a project of a crawler robot-"turtle" for Rosgvardia, which will be able to disperse street riots, RIA Novosti writes with reference to the Rospatent database.
The development is carried out at the Kabardino-Balkarian Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. According to experts, the robot will be armed with a stun gun, mesh guns and fast-hardening foam. One of the main features of the machine will be a streamlined body like a turtle. According to the creators, this form without protruding corners will avoid injuries in the crowd. In addition, it will make it impossible to grasp the technique and turn it over.
It is expected that the height of the robot will be approximately waist-high for an adult. Caucasian scientists have proposed a completely closed layout — participants of illegal actions will not even have access to a tracked chassis.
A high-speed robot moving at a speed of 50-60 kilometers per hour will become an "operative", "dissecting" clusters of people. He will be able to detain offenders with the help of the grid meters installed on him. Stun guns, foam sprayers, irritating substances will also help in this.
The second option is a "shield-bearer", which will block offenders and prevent direct contacts with security forces. The car will be able to reach a speed higher than the speed of a rider on a horse.
Earlier, students of Novosibirsk State Technical University invented a robot gardener who can plant, water and weed.
