With the help of the machine, you can install the most modern mines, equipped with the possibility of self-destruction and self-deactivation
MOSCOW, November 19. /tass/. A new batch of remote mining engineering systems (ISDM) "Agriculture" will be delivered to the Russian armed forces (AF) by the end of the year. This was announced in an interview with TASS by the General Director of the NGO "Alloy" named after A. N. Ganichev (part of the holding "Technodinamika" of the Rostec State Corporation) Alexander Smirnov.
"State tests will be completed this year. The first batch that we have produced for trial operation has already been delivered to the troops. We are also planning to supply products this year," he said.
Smirnov also said that with the help of the machine, it is possible to install the most modern mines, equipped with the possibility of self-destruction and self-deactivation. A cluster munition can have various filling, including a small aircraft drone. But in order for the device released by this system not to crash, but to fly and perform the task, additional technical study of the project is necessary. "The drone must be "unpacked" and the speed must be extinguished in order to safely remove the product from the cassette," Smirnov explained.
"Agriculture" is built on the principle of multiple launch rocket systems, however, solid fuel-powered ammunition filled with various types of mines is used for mining. The remote method of installing minefields has a number of advantages. In particular, it is distinguished by the speed of setting minefields, especially in hard-to-reach areas. At the same time, the ability of mines to deactivate or self-destruct at a given time ensures safe and rapid clearance after the cessation of hostilities.
In addition, when setting mines on an electronic map, the coordinates of the places where they fall are recorded, which are then transmitted to a higher level of management.
In addition to the combat vehicle, the system includes a transport-loading vehicle and transport-launching containers with engineering ammunition, equipped with mines of various types. The whole complex complies with international agreements on the prohibition or restriction of the use of mines, booby traps and other devices.
