The problems and prospects of manned space exploration are being discussed at the international scientific and practical conference "Manned Space Flights", which opened on Wednesday in Zvezdny Gorodok, by representatives of enterprises from Russia, the USA, Croatia, India, Mexico and other countries. This is stated in the message of the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center.
"The conference was opened by the head of the Cosmonaut Training Center Maxim Kharlamov. He noted that representatives of 67 Russian and foreign enterprises are taking part this year, which indicates a genuine interest in the topics of the reports," the message says.
As specified in the CPC, within the framework of the conference, specialists discuss the professional activities of astronauts, scientific and applied research and experiments in orbit, technical means of training astronauts, extravehicular activities, medical and psychological aspects of the selection, training and professional activities of astronauts and other issues. The event will end on Friday.
The plenary session, held on Wednesday, was attended by Roscosmos Executive Director for Advanced Programs and Science Alexander Bloshenko, Head of the Center Maxim Kharlamov, his deputy - commander of the cosmonaut detachment Oleg Kononenko. Cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov, who are currently on the ISS, the head of the ESA Permanent Mission in Russia Rene Pichel and other participants addressed the conference participants with greetings from orbit.
"The head of the NASA office in Star City, Douglas Willock, in his speech noted that he was delighted with the interaction of the CPC with students in the field of research and solving new problems in manned astronautics," the CPC noted.
During the first day of the conference, the Cosmonaut Training Center signed an agreement with the Research Institute for Specialized Computing Protection Devices and Automation. It is aimed at popularizing space and digital technologies and involving children and young people in them.
