MURMANSK, November 17. /tass/. A large anti-submarine ship (BOD) "Vice Admiral Kulakov" of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy entered the English Channel, the press service of the fleet reported on Wednesday.
"A detachment of ships and support vessels of the Northern Fleet, led by the large anti-submarine ship Vice Admiral Kulakov, overcame the Bay of Biscay of the Atlantic Ocean and entered the English Channel," the report says.
Before entering the strait, additional classes were held on the ship with the officers of the watch on navigation safety. Similar training also took place on the medium sea tanker "Akademik Pashin", and on the rescue tugboat "Altai".
The long-distance campaign of "Vice Admiral Kulakov" began on June 28 with the exit from the main base of the Northern Fleet of Severomorsk. First, the ship's crew took part in the naval parade in Kronstadt for the Navy Day, and after its completion, they worked out individual episodes of practical actions in the Atlantic during a command and staff training.
From August 18 to September 23, the North Sea Fleet operated in the Mediterranean Sea. During this time, they made business calls to Algeria, Syria and Cyprus, and also conducted a number of exercises on various types of defense of a detachment of ships at sea crossing and worked out the search for submarines of a conditional enemy. In October, the Severomorets ensured the safety of civilian shipping off the coast of Africa in the Gulf of Guinea of the Atlantic Ocean. Since leaving the base, Vice Admiral Kulakov has traveled more than 25.5 thousand nautical miles.
