MOSCOW, Nov 17 - RIA Novosti. Factory tests of the newest universal minelayer (UMZ) on a tracked chassis, created as part of the experimental design work "Tick" and capable of disrupting the offensive of enemy units alone, have been completed in the Russian Federation, sources in the military-industrial complex told RIA Novosti.
Another source confirmed this information, noting that "the minefields that the Tick-G sets are able to detain entire enemy units." "Also, the machine, due to the speed of mining, allows you to block the advancing enemy," the interlocutor added.
The source said that one "Tick-G", created on the chassis of the T-72 tank, is equipped with nine launchers that hold a total of 270 mine cassettes. One vehicle is capable of delivering minefields of 1,080 anti-personnel mines POM-2 or 270 anti-tank mines PTM-4.
UZM-G can mine at speeds up to 40 kilometers per hour. Cassettes with mines are fired from the launchers, which are unpacked in flight and throw anti-personnel or anti-tank mines according to a certain algorithm. Before the start of mining, the parameters of the minefield are entered into the on-board computer of the machine, the machine automatically starts shooting mines when the mining boundary is reached and saves the necessary intervals between mines when the speed of movement changes.
"Tick-G" is also equipped with the equipment of the unified tactical control system, which allows transmitting maps of the area with the designation of the delivered minefield to the command in a time mode close to real time.
