Moscow, November 16. INTERFAX - United Engine Corporation (UEC) has formed a pool of 40 SaM146 replacement engines as part of the creation of a comprehensive after-sales support system for operators of Sukhoi Superjet 100 airliners, the press service of the corporation reports.
"The share of passengers transported on Superjets among all regional airliners of Russian airlines exceeds 60%, and the intensity of aircraft operation continues to grow. So, in a number of airlines, the average flight time per aircraft reaches 8-10 hours. The created replacement engine pool will increase these indicators: thanks to the availability of "spare" power plants, the speed of restoring the serviceability of aircraft and the general availability of the fleet for scheduled flights increases," said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec, whose words are quoted in a press release distributed on Tuesday.
UEC is part of the Rostec State Corporation.
The report notes that the engine maintenance system for the SSJ 100 includes a 24-hour customer support center, two large spare parts supply centers, as well as its own and several independent training centers for the training of flight and technical personnel of airlines. In addition, the capacity of its own maintenance and repair department is systematically increasing, the network of aviation and technical bases of airlines that have mastered the SSJ 100 is expanding, which makes it possible to shorten the time and reduce the cost of aircraft maintenance and repair, as well as components.
"The creation of a SaM146 replacement engine pool is part of Rostec's strategy to develop the SSJ 100 after-sales service system. Maintenance and repair, crew training are conducted by both independent providers and its own Irkut after-sales service center. About 15 thousand nomenclature numbers are stored in warehouses in Zhukovsky - this is more than 1 million units of various aviation and technical property. The pick-up time in the warehouse does not exceed 20 minutes," the press service informs.
According to her, in order to simplify the use of the aircraft in the Far Eastern regions, a new Maintenance and Repair Center in Komsomolsk-on-Amur was commissioned at the end of 2020.
"A company has been established in the perimeter of the UAC to provide logistical support for the operation of Superjet 100 and MS-21 aircraft. The company supplies, organizes repairs, exchanges and leases airline components for Superjet 100 and MS-21, and also provides access to a pool of airline components. In addition, logistics centers have been prepared for the storage of components, a stock of long-cycle spare parts has been created (for example, landing gear struts, wing mechanization elements, engines). Also in 2020, a repair shop for various components of the Superjet started working in Zhukovsky," the report says.
