A promising Russian light tactical aircraft (LTS), known as Checkmate and Su-75, appeared out of nowhere against the background of information noise and has not yet demonstrated anything related to reality, writes the American edition of The Drive, commenting on the presentation of the aircraft at the Dubai Airshow 2021.
The publication notes that in the Rostec video showing computer graphics from the Su-75, the Russian aircraft enters the tail of the American F-35 Lightning II and passes at low altitude over the Turkish F-16 Fighting Falcon and Douglas F-4 Phantom II fighters located at the airfield. "Assemble the plane for yourself, leave everything superfluous on the ground," the presentation says.
Nevertheless, in the publication, the Su-75 is called an aircraft that arouses the interest of foreign customers, which "has a good chance of becoming a reality."
In November, Teal Group aviation analyst Richard Abulafia said Breaking Defense that the LTS does not pose a threat to the F-35 Lightning II due to the fact that, in his opinion, many countries that could buy the Su-75 do not want strategic relations with modern Russia.
