TSAMTO, November 16. The project 22350 Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov frigate under construction is undergoing work on centering the main diesel engines, turbines and gearboxes.
After carrying out these works, the shipbuilders of the Northern Shipyard (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) will be engaged in centering and installing the shaft line.
The progress of the construction of this frigate, as well as other ships of this project, is under constant control of the Commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.
Earlier, in September of this year, the third serial frigate "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov" project 22350 was loaded with turbines and gearboxes of a diesel-gas turbine unit (DGTA). The DGTA M55R, developed by the United Engine Corporation, is a completely domestic unit created at Russian facilities. Both starboard and port side turbines, together with gearboxes, were loaded into the aft engine room of the ship through special technological cutouts.
Frigates of project 22350 are designed to perform a wide range of tasks, including the destruction of surface ships, search and destruction of submarines and ground targets, anti-aircraft, anti-submarine and anti-missile defense of ships and vessels, joint actions with amphibious landings, patrol service, protection of state borders, protection of civilian vessels and production facilities in crisis and dangerous areas of the World Ocean, the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
