Presented by Kronstadt at Dubai Airshow 2021, a new automated operator's workplace for controlling a group of drones can be installed on an airplane or ship
DUBAI, November 16. /tass/. The control system for a group of aviation drones, presented at the Dubai Airshow 2021 by Kronstadt, can be installed on an airplane or ship to create a unified information field in the interests of interspecific formations of the Russian Armed Forces. This was announced to TASS on Tuesday on the sidelines of the aviation exhibition by a representative of the developer company.
"The new automated operator's workplace for controlling a group of drones presented at Dubai Airshow 2021 can be installed on an airplane or a ship. Thus, it is possible to equip air and ship carriers and manage groups in the interests of interspecific formations of the Russian Armed Forces," he said.
According to the company's representative, the novelty can provide the creation of network-centric systems for conducting combat operations. "The integration of combat information and control systems of aircraft and ships into a single information field will be ensured," the agency interlocutor noted.
The operator's automated workplace for managing group actions of complexes with unmanned aerial vehicles is presented for the first time by Kronstadt at the Dubai Airshow 2021. The complex uses advanced information technologies, including elements of artificial intelligence and augmented reality with a 3D picture of the terrain. When using the new system, the operator, instead of directly controlling the drones, will be able to perform only the upper goal setting. The main operations related to the control of the flight, systems management, the solution of the target task, the interaction between the sides within the UAV group will be performed by a computer using elements of artificial intelligence. This approach will allow Russian drones to move to a new stage of development and become semi-autonomous, rather than automatically controlled. Factory tests of the system are planned to begin in 2022.
The international exhibition Dubai Airshow 2021 takes place from November 14 to 18 in the United Arab Emirates. Russia has prepared a number of world premieres for the air show. Thus, flights of the Russian MS-21-310 airliner (with Russian PD-14 engines), a medical version of the Ansat helicopter and Mi-28NE and Ka-52E combat helicopters are planned as part of the Dubai Airshow. The latter are presented to the international public for the first time. In the static exposition of Russian equipment, you can see a prototype of the Checkmate light tactical aircraft, as well as Ka-226T and Mi-171A2 helicopters. In addition, the Russian Orion drone is shown.
