The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the marines will be equipped with "Super-Kalashnikov" - AK-12 submachine guns, Izvestia reports . The first to take them into service was the honor of the servicemen of the Pacific (TOP) and Black Sea Fleets (Black Sea Fleet). The submachine guns were tested by the "black berets" of the peacekeeping battalion of the Pacific Front, currently serving in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Military expert Vladislav Shurygin noted that traditionally new weapons are first received by the most combat-ready units - special forces, paratroopers and marines. In addition, he stressed that the early versions of the classic Kalashnikov assault rifle were inferior to American assault rifles in accuracy, but the domestic novelty makes them worthy competition in this parameter.
The AK-12 is designed in such a way that any surveillance devices, laser designators or flashlights can be installed on it. In addition, a number of other modifications are available for it, among which there may be an additional front handle or a grenade launcher under the barrel. The butt of the weapon can be easily reclined if necessary.
The military department noted that the effectiveness of firing from the "Super Kalashnikov" has doubled in comparison with the basic AK-74M. Also, the machine gun has the opportunity to fire in fixed bursts of two shots.
Earlier it became known that a marine version of the KUB-UAV drone was tested in Russia. The barrage ammunition was developed by Zala Aero (part of the Kalashnikov Group of companies). Kalashnikov noted that the CUBE-UAV is a universal means of destruction. The compact size of the complex allows you to launch barrage ammunition from landing boats.
